Dinner Table Questions, Round Two

“Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” Mark 2:27 (NIV)

What are the worshipful and delightful ways you spend Sabbath? One small way we typically enjoy the Sabbath is lingering conversation around the dinner table. We don’t ask the same question every time, but Mark has started incorporating a question we all enjoy that produces fruitful conversation every time we discuss the answer. I will share that with you in a moment.

Two years ago, I shared five questions in the article Dinner Table Questions. Those previous questions focused around family conversation, but these additional five questions I’m sharing today can work with any age group. Number five is the question Mark has enjoyed leading us in recently. We mentioned this habit in the episode 259 God Speaks to His Kids . . . Here’s How with Chris Allen. I hope you give it a try and let me know what meaningful conversation it sparks in your life!

  1. What is one skill or topic you’re intrigued to learn more about?

  2. What is the very best thing about the fall season where we live?

  3. What is one friendship that has enriched your life lately? Follow up: How has that friendship specifically been a blessing to you?

  4. What is one warm memory you have from autumn in years past?

  5. What is one way you’ve seen God at work in your life this week?

In my opinion, today is always the perfect season to gather people together! Here’s to gathering people around your table and asking these questions so that you can enjoy your own practical chats for intentional living!

Cheers!!
