Four Beautiful Ways to Keep Scripture Top of Mind

The two physical things I have access to now that will also be in Heaven are people and God’s Word. Therefore, I want to invest my life into relationships and Scripture because I desire to spend my life on anything that will outlast it!

Today I want to focus on Scripture that in return, blesses relationships.

When I am surrounded with truth, it sinks into my heart, my beliefs, and my desires. The natural overflow is to treat people better. So when I am at home and I glance up to see Ephesians 4:32 (ESV), I am given the reminder I need to practice self-control and be kind to my children. (“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”)

Here are my favorite ways to keep Scripture top of my mind:

At The Savvy Sauce, we will only recommend resources we believe in! We also want you to be aware: We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for us to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites.

  1. Scripture cards and stand, designed by Ang at Jarsofgrace. I display this in our kitchen and it is one way to “snack” on Scripture all day long.

  2. Do you remember Courtney DeFeo from Episode 1 of The Savvy Sauce?! She taught us about Finding Your Purpose as a Mom. She was so popular she came back again for Ideas for Spreading Generosity. She has created these beautiful ABC Scripture cards. I have them in our living room and I do not change the letter until I have been disciplined enough to both memorize the Scripture myself and teach it to my children.

  3. I love our church and the incredible community of people they are to us. When we had our fourth daughter and we dropped her off for her first time in the nursery, the volunteer was ready to welcome her and give us this gift, created by Karen Stubbs (you may remember her from Episode 9 Self-Care in Motherhood or our exclusive patron episode: Discipline Strategies and Managing Mom Guilt).

I keep these cards displayed on a table in our bedroom and it is a gentle, daily reminder to focus my mind on Christ and His Truth! Just like the Lord says in Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV):

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

And I love the encouragement that follows in vs 12a:

“For you shall go out with joy, And be led out with peace;” Amen!

  4. We have a gallery wall in our bathroom that is full of God’s Word. You can create your own gallery wall with artwork from Ang, who I mentioned before from from Jarsofgrace. She has designed many downloadable Scripture prints for every patron of The Savvy Sauce!

This mixture of Scripture art has ministered to me in countless moments and I hope it does the same for you!

Do you have any additional ways you keep Scripture on your mind and in your heart throughout the day? What is your favorite way to do this?

Blessings to You,

Laura
